Stage 33 – Triacastela to Sarria 17km / 114km

A photo mosaic of today….so I can get myself up to date….

We left our albergue here at about 7:30am after coffee and farewells to Bishnu
Walking down mainstreet Triacastela, we can feel the warm moist air currents already mixing with the cool morning air
The Camino takes us past the old blacksmith’s house just out of town before turning into the woods. There’s maybe 20 or 30 people leaving town in a long bunch
The crowds spread out rapidly as we pass through woods and quiet villages
In a small village just out of Triacastela, we come across….
Authur’s art studio. A small stone hut where Authur paints and sells his work. It’s a gorgeous little studio overlooking gardens down to the river.
Aurthur Manton-Lowe, paints stuff like this. We got some post cards.
We passed through this little place before….
…climbing steeply up into the forest.
We passed this iconic water fountain
We past San Xil at the top of the hill as the sun rose over the mountains
Coming into Montan….
…we admired this awesome tree before stopping at…
…the donativo at Montan for herbal tea, boiled egg and nuts. We felt a bit out of place not wearing home spun clothes or smelling like we hadn’t washed for a week, but otherwise it was really cool.
It had this labyrinth that took awhile to walk through.
And some nice quotes and murals and things.
After Montan, the path began to drop and we entered more open rural areas….
…with a donkey.
We stopped in this little town for coffee, tortilla and pork meat pockets, before moving on through…
Aguiada
…and enjoying this gorgeous flower box. Check out the cactus at the back….
…finally dropping down into Sarria
…and grabbing ourselves a drink in the garden of hostel a peda…
And watching the afternoon storms come in after dinner and a stroll around town.

Another great although a lot warmer and we plan to get out a lot earlier tomorrow.
